
Green tea comes from the same plant {Camellia Sinensis) as that of black tea, but the difference is in the processing. All tea starts out green. The green tea process is defined by preventing oxidation. Shortly after picking, the leaves are “fired” (rapid heating) to arrest oxidation and keep the leaf “green” for the duration of production. Therefore, Green tea is known as unoxidized teas. The producing flavors that range from earthy to toasty to seaweedy. Expect the color to be green but sometimes it could look yellow-ish.
